Author: Thomas Chatterton Williams

Williams challenges the view that it some black men and women are cannot have or be advantaged. The thesis is that the statement is that being of color in America is multifaceted. Racism exists. However, there are also challenges for some that are not of color. According to Williams, “black autonomy, equality, and even privilege exist”. The demands of race sometimes create a backlash or biased response. There are challenges in life and not all of life’s challenges link to race. Focusing only on race conceals the challenges of many.
