Twenty-five years after the Supreme Court of the United States handed down the Roe v Wade decisions, the Editorial Staff of First Things examines the effects of the decisions. The right to choose life is a fundamental question of what makes up a human person. First Thing editors treatise reflects the truth that life is a sacred gift. Our right to live is fundamental from conception through death. Proponents of Roe challenge the rights of the unborn based on privacy and choice. Woman and men have the right to privacy. In this article the challenge is to change the culture to hold the primacy rights to life over death and choice of virtue over privacy.
